As lifelong Padre fan, I’ve seen it all, and lived through some pretty terrible teams over the years, this is why the 2021 Padres, and manager Jayce Tingler, gave me hope that this season could be the one that would result in the team heading to the playoffs, and possibly the World Series. What’s great about the team this year is that they have great all-around players like Fernando Tatis jr. and Manny Machado, plus a wide variety of other stars like Jake Cronenworth. The 2021 season started out with this team exceeding the expectations of every fan when Joe Musgrove pitched a no-hitter. There was nothing better than to see him pitch the first no-hitter in the team history, but that would sadly be one of the few high points out of the season. Aside Musgrove’s no-no, and Jake Cronenworth hitting for the cycle, the 2021 season is going…

As an entrepreneur, artist, and writer, I’ve had to condition myself over the years to make progress when it comes to achieving my personal and professional goals. One big thing that I’ve learned is the importance of not mistaking busy work with progress. What do I mean by this? I can stay busy cleaning my study all day, running errands, working outside in my garden, or hanging out with my family, but doing all of these things won’t help me to accomplish my goals. Many people have told me over the years that they are going to get started doing what they need to do after they’ve done X, Y, or Z. The reality is that they almost always focus on the aspect of staying busy, and never accomplish the thing that they want to do. Examples: I have to clean the kitchen, before I start cooking. I have to…

If you’re a music fan, you know that Swedish supergroup ABBA has returned to the music world after a hiatus of more than 40 years. I have never been a fan of ABBA’s music because I grew up in the ’90s and listened mostly to Alternative Rock bands like Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Stone Temple Pilots, and Radiohead. Whenever I encountered ABBA’s songs, I typically changed radio stations because I wasn’t a fan of Disco style music, but I have to say that with age comes wisdom, and now that I’m 45, their music is growing on me. New ABBA Album ABBA’s new studio album is titled Voyage, and it’s going to have new material that fans have been asking for since the 1980s. So far, I’ve heard two of their songs on YouTube, and have seen their new AI video (I still have faith in you), I have to say…

The Matrix

It was 1999 and I was a 20 something guy who had a couple of hours to kill one sunny afternoon so I decided to go see The Matrix, the latest Keanu Reeves movie. Keanu was one of my favorite movie stars at the time, and still is, thanks to his work in movies like Point Break, and Speed, so I decided to go see what The Matrix was all about. The Matrix, in case you don’t know, is about a guy who feels like reality isn’t what he thinks it is, and after an eye-opening experience, his life changes forever. Feel Like I Could Fly Walking out of the theater that day, I felt like millions of other people, that I could fly, thanks to the mind-bending concepts that were explored in the movie. I don’t believe that we live in a simulation (Elon Musk) controlled by robots, but…

One of the biggest problems that I see people make when it comes to creating, is placing too much importance on going to college, having special skills, or having the time to get started with creating. Sadly, in the 2020’s, many people spend more time playing games, staring at screens, or immersing themselves in other worlds rather than creating. What most people don’t think about is that we all have the same amount of time in one day. 24 hours, or 1,440 minutes. The big question is what are we doing with that time? It doesn’t matter if you are a musician, artist, writer, playwright, or any other type of person, who creates something on a regular basis, your creativity does produce value and it offers something to the world. Creativity Produces Value When most people stop creating, it’s because they think that their creativity doesn’t have anything to offer…

Being an artist (or creative person) is fairly easy when you’re young, but the reality is that when you grow older, there are more responsibilities and things to do that can easily take up time. Sadly, the older an artist gets, if they have a ton of work to do during the day, it’s easy to lose the inspiration and sit on the couch for 2-3 hours per night instead of creating. The big question is how can someone stay inspired to create, even when they get busy? You Have To Incorporate Inspiration Into Your Day Staying inspired is a lot like staying in love because both require work. I’d like to say that I can sit down anytime and paint, draw or write but the reality is that sometimes the inspiration is just not there, unless I incorporate inspiration into my day. How do I incorporate inspiration into my…
