For me, art has never been a quiet background pursuit; it is how I process, interpret, and celebrate the natural world. My creative journey began over three decades ago in 1994, when I first picked up a brush with serious intent. What started as an instinctive drive to capture form and light has evolved into a lifelong commitment to exploring the balance between contemporary expression and the raw authenticity of nature.

About My Art 

While my work is rooted in modern art, my deepest inspiration springs from wildlife. Living creatures possess an immediate, unfiltered presence—a fleeting tension between stillness and motion, power and vulnerability. Whether it is the quiet focus of a songbird perched on a branch, the fluid majesty of marine life navigating ocean depths, or the subtle intensity in an animal’s gaze, I aim to translate that energy onto the surface rather than merely replicating a photograph. My goal is to draw the viewer into a shared moment with the subject, highlighting not just what an animal looks like, but what it feels like to encounter it.

To achieve this vitality, I refuse to limit myself to a single tool. Every medium speaks a distinct dialect, and choosing the right vehicle is essential to telling each subject’s story.

• Oil Pastels: Offer an immediate, tactile connection. Working directly with the pigment allows for rich, buttery textures and expressive blending that gives feathers, fur, and atmospheric light a dynamic, velvety depth.

• Acrylics: Enable sharp graphic contrast, rapid layering, and bold modern palettes that infuse contemporary edge into traditional wildlife subjects.

• Oil Paint: Remains the gold standard for depth, luminosity, and subtle transitions, allowing complex undercurrents of light to glow through layered glazes.

• Markers & Mixed Media: Provide crisp, deliberate linework and spontaneous mark-making, grounding fluid compositions with sharp, graphic clarity.

My studio is an ongoing workshop of experimentation. Blending multiple mediums on a single surface allows me to contrast raw, spontaneous gestures against fine, deliberate detail. This interplay reflects the reality of the wilderness itself—unruly, textured, and full of surprise.
