About My Art

Welcome to my about my art page!

This page is typically where someone writes something brilliant about their work, artistic style, art shows, awards etc but I got nothing….

The things that I can tell you about my work are this:

Inspiration – I’m inspired by the world around me and I’ve created a lot of artwork based on objects or themes that inspire me.

Medium – I started out working in oil paints but I don’t have a traditional studio space now so I paint with acrylics, oil pastels and I draw, a lot.

Influences – My artistic influences are Picasso, Matisse, Braque, Impressionism,  Manny Farber, David Hockney, street art and great music.

Honestly, lots of things inspire me to create artwork, it can be some great music that I found on Spotify, a movie that I watched last night, or something that I saw while on a drive with my family.

Inspiration is everywhere and available at anytime!

The biggest thing about inspiration is actually doing something with it, instead of not moving forward with that desire to create something new.

Your art may be different than mine, maybe yours is music, mixed media, sewing, making movies or creating fun moments for your kids. Regardless of what it is, you shouldn’t hesitate to create when you’re inspired.

When do I create? – Since I’m in my 40’s, with a family, bills and responsibilities, I often work on my artwork at night, or on the weekends, but I’m always thinking about.

I’m thankful that I have a wife who loves my art and supports me creating it. Many times I’m working on art late at night while we are hanging out and this has become a part of our lives that I enjoy.

Goals – I would love to one day have the ability to paint full time, until that day comes, my goal is to paint every night and produce at least one finished painting per week.

Right now, I create my art anywhere that I can in our house! Since we are a creative family, and space is of a premium, my art space is usually in the living room but my goal is that one day I will have an art space where I can create, have my paintings around me, and see how far I can take it.
